Balance of State:
HMIS/CES Dashboards

KSHC's dashboards turn HMIS reporting data into clear, visual summaries of how homelessness services are performing across Kansas.

Each one focuses on a specific program type or reporting period, covering outcomes like housing placements, income growth and data quality, alongside who the projects are serving. They're built to support decision-making for agencies, funders and community partners and to give a straightforward view of how the system is doing and where it needs attention.

New dashboards are added on an ongoing basis as staff capacity allows. Explore the current dashboards below.

Annual Performance Report (APR) dashboards

APR dashboards summarize HUD-reported program data for a given project type and reporting period.

Each one shows who a program served (demographics, household composition and special populations), how people entered and exited the program (prior living situation and exit destinations), whether income improved over the course of participation and how complete and timely the underlying HMIS data was.

They're built directly from each program's official HUD APR export, giving a quick, visual read on program performance without digging through the raw report.

These dashboards are updated monthly to reflect the previous month's data.

Coordinated Entry dashboard

A look at how Coordinated Entry is working across the Kansas Balance of State CoC (KS-507) for Fiscal Year 2025.

It brings together three pieces of the CES process: referrals made to housing programs and their outcomes, a demographic profile of clients enrolled in CES and responses to all 61 questions on the CES assessment covering housing history, health, safety and other barriers to housing.

Together they show not just how many people came through Coordinated Entry, but who they are and what they're up against.

Next update: October 2026, reflecting FY 2026 data.

KS-507 System Performance Analysis

The KS-507 dashboard tracks the Kansas Balance of State CoC's official HUD System Performance Measures across a three-year trend (FY2024 through FY2026 year-to-date), including length of time homeless, returns to homelessness, income growth, first-time homelessness and successful housing placement and retention. Each measure shows HUD's expected direction of improvement and national benchmarks where available, so performance can be read in context rather than in isolation. Also includes a closer look at how incomplete destination data affects the accuracy of these reported outcomes.

This dashboard will be updated in October 2026 to reflect complete FY2026 data.

HMIS Helpdesk Dashboard

The HMIS Helpdesk Dashboard tracks support ticket activity submitted to the KSHC HMIS team. This team responds to all incoming tickets from partner agencies and staff across KS-507 and KS-505.

The dashboard shows how many tickets are coming in, where they're coming from across the state's regions and when support is being requested. It also surfaces Help Requests, which are intake submissions from individuals experiencing homelessness or housing instability seeking connection to services through the Coordinated Entry System.

This dashboard is updated monthly and reflects cumulative data from January 1, 2026 forward.
