Domestic Violence Committee
Domestic Violence (DV) Committees: The DV Committees are responsible for ensuring survivor issues are included in all considerations and operations of the CoC including, but not limited to, policies and procedures, coordinated entry protocols, HMIS participation, trauma-informed intake practices, and annual trainings provided to all members of the BoS CoC. Through collaboration with all standing CoC committees, regional coordinators, and victim service providers, the committee will work to make certain all survivors in BoS communities receive safe, confidential, and trauma-informed services from all BoS CoC homeless providers.

Domestic Violence Governing Council: A selected group of Victim Service Providers (VSPs) will be responsible for making certain that all policies from the Domestic Violence Committee are in compliance with all domestic violence regulations (VAWA and FVPSA). This council will be seated by the accrediting agency for victim service providers in the state of Kansas, the Kansas Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence (KCSDV), in conjunction with the BoS CoC Membership and Nominations Committee. The Domestic Violence Governing Council will have no less than 3 and no more than 8 members seated. No more than 20% of the DV Governing Council can be a non-VSP agency.

Domestic Violence Committee: The committee is open to all members of the BoS CoC for the purposes of drafting and discussing policies and procedures regarding victims/survivors of domestic violence, stalking, sexual violence, human trafficking, and dating violence.
Definition of Victim Service Provider: A VSP is a designation at the agency level, not the project level.  HUD defines a victim service provider to mean a private nonprofit organization whose primary mission is to provide direct services to victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking. This term includes permanent housing providers—including rapid re-housing, domestic violence programs (shelters and non-residential), domestic violence transitional housing programs, dual domestic violence and sexual assault programs, and related advocacy and supportive services programs.
